Our Story

Red Bud Dog Ranch is a veteran-owned, family-run home in Oklahoma built around dogs—the good ones, the difficult ones, the misunderstood ones, and the ones who somehow become permanent family members when they were only supposed to stay for a little while.

We’re Zach and Kerstie, and together with our family, we have opened our home to rescue dogs, foster dogs, strays, and plenty of lovable troublemakers. At any given time, life around the ranch can include new arrivals, muddy paws, training challenges, veterinary appointments, destroyed toys, unexpected chaos, and some of the best dogs we have ever known.

Red Bud Dog Ranch was not created as a polished business idea. It grew naturally from the life we were already living.

The Dog Behind the Ranch

A big part of our story begins with Red.

Red was our corgi, our adventure buddy, and one of those once-in-a-lifetime dogs who leaves a mark on everything that comes after him. He rode in the truck, explored trails, camped under the stars, and stayed close through countless miles and memories. He had short legs, a huge personality, and a heart that seemed far too big for his body.

After losing Red to cancer, we wanted his memory to remain part of what we were building. His personality, photographs, and story continue to inspire the ranch and many of the designs you see in our shop.

Red Bud Dog Ranch is, in part, a way to carry him forward while continuing to help other dogs find safety, patience, and a place to belong.

Real Dogs, Real Stories

The dogs featured in our designs are not generic characters created in a studio. They are based on the real dogs who have lived at, passed through, or left their mark on Red Bud Dog Ranch.

Some are well-behaved. Some are works in progress. Some arrive scared, neglected, reactive, or unsure of the world around them. Others arrive completely confident that they own the place.

Dogs like Zuko, the inspiration behind our Bad Dogs Club design, remind us that the most memorable dogs are not always the easiest ones. Every dog has a personality, a history, and a story worth telling.

That is what we want our products to represent: real dogs, real experiences, and the humor, frustration, love, and loyalty that come with sharing your life with them.

“Let Them Be Dogs” is more than a slogan to us.

Dogs need structure, training, boundaries, exercise, and responsible care, but they also need room to sniff, explore, play, get dirty, make mistakes, and simply be dogs.

We believe in meeting dogs where they are, understanding the behavior in front of us, and giving them the time and opportunity to become the best version of themselves.

Some dogs need only a little guidance. Others require patience, management, rehabilitation, and a willingness to keep showing up. They are not all easy, but they are all worth understanding.
